book club
Although there is not (yet!) an official "book club" with a calendar, meetings, etc., this page is all about the books I am reading, have read, and/or have such confidence in its placement on my "TBR" list that I don't hesitate in recommending it to others even though I haven't read it yet. With that being said, let me just remind you of the disclaimer that - as with anything on this website - any of these books that you choose to read on your own, you do so of your own free will, understanding and agreeing that any reliance on material found here is done so solely at your own risk. Further, my recommendation of a book does not imply or provide endorsement of any and everything that person has said or will say in the future. If you find that I am recommending the work or words of someone who is problematic or harmful, please send me a message, so that I can investigate further.

invisible things
by andy j. pizza & sophie miller
there are a whole lot of things that influence and impact us every day that are "invisible" - but they can be just as powerful as the things we can see. theoretically this book is for kids, but i think it's actually a great tool for all of us to explore our internal and external words in a new way.
bonus:

board books to teach positive coping skills using some of the "invisible things" from the original book
what happened to you?
by bruce d. perry, md, phd & oprah winfrey
dr. perry is one of the leading voices in building our understanding of trauma and our brains. this book is a great intro into understanding more about how all of these things work together and the hope that we can claim because of the neuroplasticity of our brains.
